Trip Introduction

Everest Base Camp Trekking is one of the most popular trekking journeys among trekkers. This Trek will give us immense pleasure to introduce you to an amazing view of the world's highest peak. Perhaps in viewing Everest in this way, you will be fulfilling a long held desire. Mount Everest Base Camp has been a popular destination for all adventure lovers since the very first expeditions to the Nepalese side of Everest in 1953. Everest base camp trek begins from Lukla after a thirty-five minutes scenic flight from Kathmandu. When flight land at that tiny airstrip to the south of the region, Lukla it is considered as the gateway to Mt. Everest. From here our adventures begin. we spend several days moving through the homelands of the Sherpa people and will see Buddhist monasteries and close up views of Mount Everest and neighboring peaks, considered by many to be among the most beautiful mountains in Nepal.

Day 1 : Arrive at Kathmandu.

Arrive at Kathmandu Tribhuvan airport (1,300m),  Where Our Himalayan Excursion Nepal's representative meets you, transfer you to a hotel near by Thamel. We will explain about your program in the evening time. Overnight at the hotel with BB basis.

Day 2 : Trek preparation & Sightseeing at Kathmandu valley.

After morning breakfast you will meet with trekking and tour guide, then you will have sightseeing  of world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley including: Kathmandu durbar square, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath stupa and Pashupatinath Temple with our Professional tour guide.

Day 3 : Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,652m)

Transfer to airport at early in the morning for Lukla flight. Flight for Lukla is a lifetime experience in itself. The airfield is at high elevation and the difference between the two ends of the runway is about 460 meters.

Day 4 : Trek to Namche Bazar (3,440m)

Today, we follow the Dudh Kosi, ascending through Himalayan pine and Doedar cedar forests, to the celebrated village of Namche Bazaar. Namche bazaar is a historic trading post where Nepalese and Tibetan traders exchange salt, dreied meat and textiles. Besides being a superb place to shop for traditional crafts, Namche remains the central trading post in the Khumbu, attracting Himalayan and lowland merchats. We will spend two days in Namche for acclomatization, visit local markets and spend time with your team. On the hike we capture our first glimpses of Everest and neighboring peaks.

Day 5 : Acclimatization day in Namche

This day is reserved for acclimatization and a very slow ascent into thin Air. After breakfast we will start the ascent towards Khumjung. The trail ascends above Namche Bazar and passes through Syangboche (3,720m) where the local airport is located. From a hill top above the airport, you will get your first views of Taboche Peak, Lhotse peak, and Ama Dablam. On arrival at Khumjung(3,780m), you could visit the Hilary school before stopping for lunch at one of the tea houses. After lunch we will continue ascending the foot path to Khunde (3840 m), here you could visit the local hospital before the 2 hours ascent back to Namche Bazar.  Namche Bazar is Known as the gateway of the Everest region, visit the local museum where you can see the traditional custom of the Sherpa peoples. We will spend a second night in Namche.

Day 6 : Trek to Tengboche (3,860m)

The flat and easy trail leads towards the view of Mt. Everest, then descends deep into the Dudh Koshi valley at Pungki Thanka, from here it ascends the right flank of the Dudh Kosi valley to Tengboche Monastery (3,860m). It is the spritual center of the Khumbu. We can see  Mt. Everest, Amadablam and its surrounding from khumbu.

Day 7 : Trek to Dingboche (4,410m).

Descend through a beautiful forest then cross the Imja khola and trek through the  village of Pangboche (3900 m), Perhaps today is the most interesting trekking because you will not lose altitude like on other days and you will enjoy views of Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Lhotse & other peaks, the route continues through pastures to Dingboche, Known as the ' summer valley'.

Day 8 : Second Acclimatization day, O/N at Guesthouse.

This would be your second acclimatization  day that requires about 6 hours of trekking to an altitude of 5100 meters. After breakfast we ascend Nagerjun (5100 m), a hill located on the flanks of the Chhukung valley directly above Dingboche. The main aim is to climb high and sleep low. The foot path becomes steep at times, resulting in a physically challenging day- ascending the hill could  take up to 5 hours at altitude. From this altitude there are good views of Lobuche East (6119 m), Lobuche west (6145 m), Taboche Peak (6367 m), Thamserku (6608 m), Kangtega (6685 m) and Ama Dablam (6856 m). On a clear day you could even see Makalu, the world's fifth highest mountian, including great views of the Pheriche valley. After a short rest we will start the descent back to Dingboche - the walk at altitude takes about 2 hours. After lunch you should take a well deserved rest, afternoon tempratures could drop rapidly as the sun sets over the mountain tops. We will spend a second night in Dingboche.

Day 9 : Trek to Lobuche (4,910m), 5/6 hrs, O/N at guesthouse.

Trek along a broad valley floor to Dughla, passing the Trekker Aid post at Pheriche (4,240m), staffed by western volunteer docters and supported by the Himalayan rescue association which offers treatment and consultation to trekkers. Continue up the valley, gaining altitude. Come out of the valley to descend to the yak pastures if Lobuche (4,910m).

Day 10 : Trek to Everest Base camp (5,160m), then return to Gorepahep, 5/6 hrs.

After a short climb through meadows, look down on the Khumbu glacier. Straight ahead is Kalapattar, the best vantage point to view the entire south face of Mt. Everest and the surrounding peaks. After couple of hours we will get at Goreksheep, and continue our journey to Everest Base camp. There is not much elevation gain, but there are a lot of ups and downs, combined with altitude, this can be a tiring portion- but the journey is worth it.After 3 hrs of hiking we will arrive at Base camp and enjoy views of the Khumbu Glacier and icefall, where Everest expeditions begin.

Day 11 : Hiking to Kalapattar (5,545m).

Hiking to Kalapattar (5,545m), the best viewpoint to witness Mt. Everest and the spectacular Himalayan range. Then we trek back to Gorekshep for hot breakfast and then descend to Pheriche (4,210m).

Day 12 : Trek to Namche, 6/7 hrs.

Easy walk along the Imja Khola, short climb to Tengboche, descend Pungki Thanka and complete steep to Kyangjuma and easier trail to Namche.

Day 13 : Trek to Lukla, 6/7 hrs.

The trek continues along the Dudh Koshi river to the small mountain airstrip at Lukla where you will catch your return flight to Kathmandu.

Day 14 : Fly back to Kathamndu (1,300m), O/N at hotel.

After 30 minutes scenic flight we will reach to Kathmandu. Overnight at the hotel with BB basis.

Day 15 : Transfer to Airport.

Everest Base camp trek is suitable for any kind of person who is moderately fit, no previous experience is required. To  condition yourself for the trek, some physical fitness programs such as walking, running, swimming and hiking are recommended before you embark on your journey. Any person suffering from a pre-existing medical condition or diseases must seek medical advice before considering any trek.
Yes, our company representative will be there to greet you. He will be displaying Himalayan  Excursion Nepal sign board outside the airpot terminal. You will be transferred to your hotel by our private vehicle.
Best season for trekking is usally March-April and October-November but
Everest Base camp trek can be done in February,June,April,May and December as well.
Weather in the mountains is very difficult to predict.At night it is generally cold and the days are generally warm.The temperature could be as high as 25 degree celsius to -20 degree celsius low.
During trek guesthouse does not facilitate with heater or air conditioner,But they have facility of hitting the dinning area by providing kerosene or metal heater. USD 2 to USD 5 per person would be applicable to use this service and this is payable directly to the guesthouse. 
Depending on nature of travel we provide different vehicle service.we provide tourist vehicles for sightseeing, city tours and airport pickups-drops. We book flight ticket through Tara Air, Goma Air and Nepal Airlines air for the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and vice versa.
 
There are landline telephone in some village along the trekking routes from which you can contact with your family and friends. some place there is also internet access which you can use by paying some charges.Also you can buy sim card for your cell phone by giving your xerox copy of your passport and PP size photo.
 
In the cities, off course yes but once you are outside of the cities, all you have to pay in cash. Also you have exchange the currency in Nepali rupees before you go outside the cities.
Generally, in kathmandu you can allocate USD 15-20 for lunch and dinner.During trekking USD 10 to 15 per person a day will be enough to buy bottles of water,chocolates,biscuits,pay for the hot shower and a few drinks.
Yes, charging facilities will be available in every guesthouse & lodges but sometime there maybe load shedding problem so its better to bring power bank or spare batteries.
There are many restaurant available in Kathmandu city where you can find any delight of your choice. But in trekking route most teahouses.On the menu you may find noodles soup,steam mo:mo,daal bhat, green salad, finger chips,eggs,potatoes, fresh vegetables. You can get tea,coffee,hot lemon,hot chocolate. Every day breakfast, lunch , dinner will be at a lodge.
 
Along with your trek, we can add days at your request with additional costs to cover guides, porters, accommodation, and food.Please consult with your guide and he will update our office in Kathmandu and we can make the arrangments accordingly.

If you are in private or solo trip it would be possible as your itinerary is very flexible where as if you were in the group then this group the option would be limited so please make sure you discuss with your group and guide and your guide will update us accordingly.
 
Lodges mostly serve the vegetarian meals so there is no problem at all for vegetarian. Also we always recommend our clients to eat vegetarian meals to avoid food poisoning. Non-veg meals at the high altitude is not safe for the stomach.
Hot water in bucket will be provided for shower and you have to pay for hot water.
 
Yes, they have received training from NATHM (Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management).They have also received high altitude first aid training from KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Education Project).
Actually tipping is not compulsory, but small gesture of thanks to your guides and local porters.The level of the tip should reflect the level of satisfaction from and personal involvment with your guide.
