Annapurna Circuit Trek

The Annapurna Circuit trek is one of the most popular and classical trekking in Annapurna region. During the trek one can view many mountain peaks above 7,000m and worlds 10th highest peak - Annapurna I at 8,091 meters. After an overland journey from Kathmandu to Dumre trails starts from Bhulbhule by walk on a stunning suspension bridge and follows river Marsyandgi and reaches the Thorong-La pass 5,416m which is the world's largest pass in trekking trail. We also walk through Kali Gandaki river gorge which is the world's deepest river gorge.

 

We explore beautiful pine forest, tropical rice paddies, rhododendron forest to dry landscapes and amazing views of the Annnapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Besides the mountain views, we encounter on this trek an ancient caves, alpine valley, frozen lakes and ancient monasteries. This trek will provide you chance to see many different climatic zone, indigenous group people and their culture, tradition, religion and language. Our 16 days long Annapurna Circuit trek will finish at Jomsom from where we take less than 20 minutes scenic flight to Pokhara.

Itinerary

Our company representative will greet you in airport and trsanfer you to hotel in our private vehicle. After a long flight, short take a short nap at hotel. After getting some rest, our company representative will brief about Annapurna Circuit Trek itinerary and help you with any missing gears. If your arrival is early morning you can have half day sightseeing in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel with bed & breakfast basis. 

After early breakfast, drive Kathmandu to Dharpani through Besisahar. We provide sharing jeep up to Bhulbhule but if you want private jeep we can upgrade. We will drive through beautiful small villages including Bahundanda, Syange, Jagat, Chamje and Taal before arriving Dharapani. As you follow the beautiful villages side by side you will enjoy amazing waterfalls, suspension bridge, snow-capped mountains which will amaze you on your Annapurna Circuit trail. Today, our trekking trail goes through alpine territory, where temperature will fall down compartively. Danaky and Bagarchhap Tibetan settlements are reached after traveling through woodlands. You will witness the incredible view of Mount Annapurna. After cross through famous apple garden, beautiful settlements of Timang , Thanchowk and Koto, you will reach beautiful village Chame. While entering the village you will see mani wall with prayer wheels and flag. Chame is the headquarters of Manang district. Overnight at Guesthouse with breakfast, lunch and dinner basis. 

Today, our trail goes through a stunning Rhododendron, dense pine forest, gurling Marsyangdi river and come across the beautiful panoramic views mountains. During our hike, we will see the view of the huge Paungda Dada which looks like bowl shape. After 6 to 7 hours of hike, finally we reach Upper Pisang. The place offers incredible view of Mount Annapurna second. Overnight at Guesthouse with breakfast, lunch and dinner basis.

Today, our trekking trai will be toughest in comparision but while hiking on higher trails through Upper Pisang via Ghyaru and Ngawal you will be awarded by magnificent mountain range including Lamjung himal (6,983m/22,910ft), Gangapurna (7,544m/24,751ft), Annapurna IV (7,525m/24,688ft), Annapurna II (7,937m/26,040ft) etc. On the way you will visit biggest Barge monastery and get chance to know more about Buddhist culture. Once you get closer to the Manang you will see the road is studded with Buddhist shrines.

Today is acclimatization and rest day before ascending to high elevation and Thorung La Pass. We spend our rest day with some walks and sightseeing around the classic village of Manang. We will walk up to beautiful Glacier lake Gangapurna and visit ancient monastery at Manang village. After sightseeing we will return back to Guesthouse for night stay. Overnight at Guesthouse with breakfast, lunch and dinner basis.

After acclimatization in Manang, we will resume our trek with full of energy and excitement towards Yak Kharka. Today, we have to ascends by 500 meters through Tenki Manang, leaving the Marsyangdi valley and continue along the Jarsang Khola valley and reach Yak Kharka. Overnight at Guesthouse with breakfast, lunch and dinner basis.

Depending on your physicals condition and the weather condition, around 5 hours of hiking you will reach Throung Phedi. Due to high altitude difficulty level and frequently severe winds are impacted. Snow fall can make considerably longer, but our experienced guide will assist you very careful. Now you may observe herds of Yaks and blue sheep grazing on the river bank. Trekking up to high camp will make our next day hike easier. Overnight at Guesthouse with breakfast, lunch and dinner basis.

Today, our path is little difficult but you will be rewarded by goosebumps seeing extraordinary views of Himalayan range including Thronng peak, Dhaulagiri range, Nilgiri, Annapurna range and other many snow capped peaks. We will descend down to famous Hindu temple Muktinath. Every years thousand of Hindu pilgrims come to visit hindu temple. Hindu people believe that if you take bath in 108 holy taps, you will be cleansed of the sin which you did in your previous life. After visiting Muktinath temple, will drive one and half hour to reach Jomsom bazaar. Overnight at Guesthouse with breakfast, lunch and dinner basis.

You will take early morning 20 minutes flight to reach Pokhara. You can have rest day or sightseeing in Pokhara yourself. You can visit famous places including Davis fall, Gupteswor cave, world peace pagoda, shive statue pumdikot and boating in Phewa lake. Overnight at Guesthouse with breakfast, lunch and dinner basis.

Today, you will drive back to Kathmandu by tourist. The distance between Pokhara to Kathmandu is 200 kilometers approx. which takes around 7-8 hours. If you don't want to travel long hours you can take 30 minutes flight to reach Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel with bed and breakfast basis.

As per your departure time, we often set up an airport transfer service three hours before your flight time. If your time is in after noon or evening, you can have some souvenir shopping for your family, friends and relative in Thamel market.

Essential Trip Infos

We assign one porter for every two trekkers. Every trekker should make only 10 kg weight of duffel bag which will be carried by the porter.  If you have more luggages you can leave non-trekking items at the hotel in Kathmandu. 

 

Trekkers should carry daily necessities and their valuables items themselves like mobile phones, camera, Gopro, cash, water bottle, sunscreen, toiletries etc.

Faq

Annapurna circuit trek is suitable for any kind of person who is moderately fit; no previous experience is required for this trek. To condition yourself for the trek, some physical fitness programs such as walking, running, swimming and hiking are recommended before you embark on your journey. Any person suffering from a pre-existing medical condition or diseases must seek medical advice before considering any trek.

Yes, our company representative will come to greet you in airport. He will be displaying your name outside the airport terminal. You will be transferred to hotel by our private vehicle.

For trekking best season is usually March-April and October-November but Annapurna Circuit trek can be done in February, June, April, May and December as well.

Weather in the mountains is very difficult to predict. At night it is generally cold and the days are generally warm. The temperature could be as high as 30 degree Celsius to minus 15 degree Celsius low.

Depending on nature of travel we provide different vehicle service. We provide tourist vehicles for sightseeing, city tours and airport pickups- drops. We provide tourist bus transfer service from Kathmandu-Pokhara-Kathmandu. We book flight ticket through Simrik air, Buddha Air, Yeti air for the flight from Kathmandu - Pokhara – Kathmandu.

There are landline telephone in some village along the trekking routes from which you can contact with your family and friends. Some place there is also internet access which you can use by paying some charges. Also you can buy sim card for your cell phone by giving your Xerox copy of your passport and PP size photo.

In the cities, off course yes but once you are outside of the cities, all you have to pay in cash. Also you have exchange the currency in Nepali rupees before you go outside the cities.

Yes, charging facilities will be available in every guesthouse & lodges but sometime there maybe load shedding problem so it’s better to bring power bank or spare batteries.

There are many restaurants available in Kathmandu and Pokhara city where you can find any delight of your choice. But in trekking route most of the tea houses menu you may find noodles soup, steam mo:mo, daal bhat, green salad, finger chips, eggs, potatoes, fresh vegetables. You can get tea, coffee, hot lemon, hot chocolate. Every day breakfast, lunch & dinner will be at a lodge.

Lodges mostly serve the vegetarian meals so there is no problem at all for vegetarian. Also we always recommend our clients to eat vegetarian meals to avoid food poisoning. Non-veg meals at the high altitude are not safe for the stomach.

Hot water in bucket will be provided for shower and you have to pay for hot water.

Yes, they have received training from NATHM (Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management). They have also received high altitude first aid training from KEEP (Kathmandu Environment Education project).

Actually tipping is not compulsory, but small gesture of thanks to your guides and local porters. The level of the tip should reflect the level of satisfaction from and personal involvement with your guide.
