Annapurna Base Camp Trek - Make memories in the mountains

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most famous and pleasing trekking route for trekkers in Annapurna region. The highest altitude reached on this trek around 4,131m. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek begins at Nayapul, one and half hour drive north of the Pokhara city. The trekking trail passes through many villages of different ethnic communities having different culture, religion and lifestyle with stunning view of the most beautiful himalayan range.

 

The trekking route continues through jaw-dropping blossoming dense rhododendron forest and Bamboo forest with unparalleled snowy peaks. The approach to Base Camp leads you through Annapurna Sanctuary, where you can experience spectacular vistas of the majestic mountain peaks. The treks combine so many breathtaking landscapes and bring you so close to the base of 7,000 & 8,000 meters peaks including Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Annapurna south, Ganagpurna, and Mount Fishtail. At the end of trekking you will rest overnight at Jhinu Danda, By walking 15 minutes down hill from Jhinu Danda, you will reach Jhinu Hot Spring with bathing areas in the lap of the mountains, which will boost your tired body. Locals people believe that the waters have a healing quality that ease away your skin disease.

Itinerary

Arriving Kathmandu airport, Where Himalayan Excursion Nepal's representative meets you; transfer you to the related hotel as per your requirement. Overnight at hotel with Bed & Breakfast basis.

Fly 25-30 minutes or drive 6-7 hours Kathmandu to Pokhara. Through this drive experience the stunning views of Trisuli Rivers and green forest. Overnight at hotel with Bed & Breakfast basis.

Today, we will drive one and half hours to reach Birethanti from where we start our trek. After couple of hours hike we will reach Hile (1495 meters)  village where we will have an hour break have some tea/coffee. After short break we will resume or trek to reach beautiful Magar village called Ulleri. Overnight at guesthouse with breakfast, lunch and dinner basis.

Today, trail leads us to the Ghorepani, one of the popular destinations of Annapurna region situated at an altitude of 2,856 meters. Our trek gently ascends up to Banthanti (2,250 meters) through Oak and rhododendron forest, then we continue trek towards Ghorepani through Nangeythanti (2,460 meters). Today we walk approximately 5 hrs. Overnight at Lodge with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.

Early in the morning climb up to Poonhill (3,210 meters) to see the panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himalayan ranges as well as sunrise over the tolerable Himalayas. Experiencing the great views of Himalayan panorama from poonhill, we descend to Ghorepani. After breakfast, continue downhill trek to Tadapani (2,625 meters). The trail goes a long the ridges of rhododendron and pine forest till the Tadapani. Overnight at Lodge with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.

Today’s trail descends to Kimrong stream through the Gurang village. Our trail goes down to the village Chuile which offers beautiful views of valley below. Chhomrong offers you close views of Mt. Annapurna south and Hiunchuli and the virgin peak, Fishtail (Machhapuchchhre). After crossing river uphill climb through dense forest reach to Sinuwa village. Overnight at Lodge with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.

We climb to Deurali through the Rhododendron and bamboo forest. The place located on the ridge of Hinko Cave and it is the trail most stretch subject to avalanche. Overnight at Lodge with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.

The day begins with climb to Machhapuchhre base camp (3,900 meters) and to Annapurna base camp. The area is surrounded by the mountains and is known as Annapurna Sanctuary. This place gives you a spectacular view of Himalayas including Annapurna I, Annapurna south and Barah Shikhar. Overnight at Lodge with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.

Today, we will trek back to same path. Our trail descends by 1700 meters to the bank of Modi Khola to Bamboo. There are few lodges available for night stay. Overnight at Lodge with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.

Today, we will trek back on same path until chomrong. The trail continues through Rhododendron and Bamboo forest. Once we reach Jhinu, we will take bath at natural hot water spring at Jhinu. Overnight at Lodge with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner basis.

Today we will enjoy short trek to reach Syauli Bazaar which is the end point of our trek. We will enjoy off road drive up to Nayapul and reach to Pokhara city.

Early morning drive (6-7 hours) or fly (25 minutes) back to Kathmandu . Overnight at hotel with Bed & Breakfast basis.

Today is final departure so in free last minute you can buy gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until you transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.

Essential Trip Infos

We assign one porter for every two trekkers. Every trekker should make only 10 kg weight of duffel bag which will be carried by the porter.  If you have more luggages you can leave non-trekking items at the hotel in Kathmandu. 

 

Trekkers should carry daily necessities and their valuables items themselves like mobile phones, camera, Gopro, cash, water bottle, sunscreen, toiletries etc. 

 

If you don’t have sleeping bag and duffel bag you can rent with us at USD 30 only for entire trip. Please note that incase of damage or loss, you need to reimburse the cost of USD 100.

Faq

Annapurna Base Camp trek is suitable for any kind of person who is moderately fit, no previous experience is required. To condition yourself for the trek, some physical fitness programs such as walking, running, swimming and hiking are recommended before you embark on your journey. Any person suffering from a pre-existing medical condition or diseases must seek medical advice before considering any trek. 
 

Yes, our company representative will be there to greet you. He will be displaying your name outside the airport terminal. You will be transferred to your hotel by our private vehicle. 
 

Best season for trekking is usually March-April and October-November but Annapurna Base Camp trek can be done in February, June, April, May and December as well. 
 

Weather in the mountains is very difficult to predict. At night it is generally cold and the days are generally warm. The temperature could be as high as 30 degree Celsius to minus 15 degree Celsius low.  
 

Depending on nature of travel we provide different vehicle service. We provide tourist vehicles for sightseeing, city tours and airport pickups-drops. We provide tourist bus transfer service from Kathmandu-Pokhara-Kathmandu. We book flight ticket through Simrik air, Buddha Air, Yeti air for the flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara and vice versa. 
 

There are landline telephone in some village along the trekking routes from which you can contact with your family and friends. Some place there is also internet access which you can use by paying some charges. Also you can buy sim card for your cell phone by giving your Xerox copy of your passport and PP size photo. 
 

In the cities, off course yes but once you are outside of the cities, all you have to pay in cash. Also you have exchange the currency in Nepali rupees before you go outside the cities. 
 

Yes, charging facilities will be available in every guesthouse & lodges but sometime there maybe load shedding problem so it’s better to bring power bank or spare batteries. 
 

There are many restaurants available in Kathmandu and Pokhara city where you can find any delight of your choice. But in trekking route most of the teahouses menu you may find noodles soup, steam mo:mo, daal bhat, green salad, finger chips, eggs, potatoes, fresh vegetables. You can get tea, coffee, hot lemon, hot chocolate. Every day breakfast, lunch, dinner will be at a lodge. 
 

Lodges mostly serve the vegetarian meals so there is no problem at all for vegetarian. Also we always recommend our clients to eat vegetarian meals to avoid food poisoning. Non-veg meals at the high altitude are not safe for the stomach. 
 

Hot water in bucket will be provided for shower and you have to pay for hot water. 
 

Yes, they have received training from NATHM (Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management).They has also received high altitude first aid training from KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Education Project). 
 


Actually tipping is not compulsory, but small gesture of thanks to your guides and local porters. The level of the tip should reflect the level of satisfaction from and personal involvement with your guide.
