Bardia National Park is one of the famous wildlife buffer zone located in the lowland part of Nepal. In 1976 the National park covers an area of 368 square kilometers but in order to protect the rare species it was expanded in 1982 which covers eastern bank of Kaligandaki and Babai river in the center, now the total area is 968 square kilometers. The area of National Park covered with the Savannah river in jungle provides shelter to some of the endangered creature of wildlife including wild Elephant, One - horned Rhino, Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopards, bears, Black Buck, Gharial-crocodile, Gangetic Dolphin, Marsh mugger, Bengal Florican and Sarus crane. The park provide chance to encounter great variety of flora and fauna as well.
