Live Tiger Tracking - Bardia National Park

Bardia National Park is one of the famous wildlife buffer zone located in the lowland part of Nepal. In 1976 the National park covers an area of 368 square kilometers but in order to protect the rare species it was expanded in 1982 which covers eastern bank of Kaligandaki and Babai river in the center, now the total area is 968 square kilometers. The area of National Park covered with the Savannah river in jungle provides shelter to some of the endangered creature of wildlife including wild Elephant, One - horned Rhino, Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopards, bears, Black Buck, Gharial-crocodile, Gangetic Dolphin, Marsh mugger, Bengal Florican and Sarus crane. The park provide chance to encounter great variety of flora and fauna as well.

Bardia National Park is a protected area in Nepal that is home to a variety of wildlife, including tigers. If you are planning to visit Bardia National Park and are interested in seeing tigers, there are a few things you can do to increase your chances of having a tiger encounter:

Itinerary

After arrival in Tribhuwan international Airport Kathmandu, our company representative will transfer you to pre-booked hotel. If your arrival is in morning or afternoon you can enjoy city sightseeing. Overnight at hotel with Bed & breakfast basis.

After breakfast, morning flight to Nepalgunj. After one hour flight you will reach Nepalgunj city and drive 2 hours to reach Bardia National Park. After check in hotel you will have short rest and have lunch. Afternoon enjoy jungle walk and evening time visit Tharu local village and cultural dance show. Overnight at hotel with Breakfast, lunch & dinner basis.
 

Today will be an exciting day because we will penetrate the dense forest of Bardia National Park as we begin for the search of Royal Bengal Tiger. Our experienced guide knows the locations where Tiger are often spotted. While passing dense forest we can spot a lot of foot print of Tiger and many beautiful creature. Passing through the jungle you will enjoy noises of birds all the way. Overnight at hotel with Breakfast, lunch & dinner basis.

This is our second day for tiger tracking. Today we will penetrate the dense forest by 4wd jeep. We will visit several places from where we will track plenty of tiger evidence. We will spend our time at riverbank one of the famous tiger spot, where tigers come to drink water or come to swim. Our jungle guide will be stand by and inform you immediately, if he got any sign of tiger. Overnight at hotel with Breakfast, Lunch & dinner basis.

Today is our last day in Bardia national park so if you already encountered tiger we will go for other jungle activities like rafting in Karnali river, Dolphin sightseeing, Elephant safari but if you did not encountered tiger in first and second day will go core area of national park where is more chances to spot tiger. If we don’t spot tiger in core area as well we increase our trip day and we will try another tiger territory. Overnight at hotel with Breakfast, Lunch & dinner basis.

After fantastic trip, we will drive back to Nepalgunj city and fly to Kathmandu. After short rest in hotel you will visit tourist hub Thamel and have some souvenir shopping. At evening we will enjoy typical Nepali food with cultural dance program. Overnight at hotel with Bed & Breakfast basis.

Faq

Bardia wildlife tour is suitable for any kind of person who is moderately fit, no previous experience is required.  

 

Best season for tour is usually March-April and October-November but Bardia wildlife tour can be done in February, June, April, May and December as well. 
 

It depends upon season. During winter (November to February), It is colder at night time and relatively warmer during the day time, with the temperature ranging from around 4 degree at night to 23 degree at day time. Between March and May, the weather stay perfect as the temperature averages 25 degree during the day time. From September to December, the temperature gets cooler and allows for a great time to travel. The average temperature during this season is 22 degree. 
 

We provide two or three star level hotel accommodation for the entire tour. The hotel offer the facilities of attached bathrooms, dining room, a bar, internet access, hot shower and so forth.  
 

All the restaurants that we dine at cater for continental, Chinese, Mexican, American based cuisine with some local influences, always plenty to choose from. 

 

ATMs are available in Kathmandu and Nepalgunj. Major credit cards are accepted in all places but you need to pay 4% extra as bank levy, which might make cash more preferable. 
 

We estimate USD 15 to 20 a day will enough to buy lunch, dinner, chocolates and a few drinks. 
 

Depending on nature of travel we provide different vehicle service. We provide tourist vehicles for sightseeing, city tours and airport pickups-drops. We book flight ticket through Buddha Air, Yeti Air, Saurya Air and Shree Airlines for the flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and vice versa.

There are telephones and internet facilities available so you can always stay in contact with your family. 
 

Laundry service is easily available at your hotel. Please note that laundry service is not included in the tour package price. 

 

Yes, they have received training from NATHM (Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management).They has also received high altitude first aid training from KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Education Project).
