In every shop you will find something unique that unleashes them from the rest Thamel has some of the best cashmere products, Singing Bowls, Musical instruments, handmade showpieces of Harley Davidson, uncountable variations of products culturally representing Nepal, the most unique ashtrays, Nepali jute bags and many more. One may find products in different locations of the valley as well, but Thamel offers innumerable options and price ranges, giving it a bit of walking exercise for nevertheless worthwhile.

Rickshaw Ride

One of the inevitable rides you should take while in Nepal is the rickshaw. The most traditional conveyance mode reaches to the tip and toes of the place. The area consists of a book library, a museum, restaurant and a large sitting area for sunbathing or a shade to escape the sun. Tourists not in the streets of Thamel are most likely to be found here! The pleasance of this place can be witnessed in the satisfied faces of the visitors. Popular among youngsters as a dating spot, this park, like a piece of heaven, has many others just relaxing in the green contours, reading books, doing assignments, walking around and playing with the squirrels in the trees.

Personally, besides the must-do in Thamel, for me, walking around in this place is a natural therapy. The enthusiastic tourists wandering around, the food lovers hunting their delight, the ever smiling shopkeepers handy in selling products add colors to this place. The vehicle free street keeps the place fresh and less crowded. A walk in the streets of Thamel after 8 pm is all I could ask for. There is silence, there are colors, there are people enjoying their drinks and partying, there are people sitting in cozy cafes while reading books, there are groups of friends boosting and shouting in excitements and there are families enjoying dinners in their favorite restaurants. These activities make Thamel a must visit place while in Nepal.
