Langtang Region

Langtang region is in the Himalayas of Nepal to the northern side of Kathmandu valley with Tibet at its border. Langtang has a wide variety of climate like subtropical and alpine on which 25% of this area has covered with trees, different varieties of rare animals like red pandas, Himalayan Tahr, rhesus monkeys and Himalayan black bear are available. The Langtang region contains Gosaikunda Lake sacred to Hindus which has five kunda (lakes) in it and also the beautiful Helambu valley not to forget.

Langtang region is also famous for local Yak cheese, where this cheese can also be export in foreign countries. Another spiritual site is the famous Buddhist monastery i.e.: kyanjin Gompa and Sing Gompa. Langtang region is famous for different trekking destinations including Langtang valley trekking, Langtang Gosaikunda helambu Trek, Tamang Heritage Trek and Langtang valley ganja la pass trekking. This district is glad to have Nepal’s first Himalayan National Park famously known by Langtang National Park.
